Each year, with the assistance of scores of community volunteers, the Wesleyan Arts Alliance plans, promotes, and “puts on" this tremendous event that showcases the artistic talents of dozens of artists from within and outside of the Wesleyan School community. This is the 22nd year of the Market, and I am confident it will be better than it has ever been!
Community is at the heart of the Wesleyan Artist Market as it is not only intended to be an event for Wesleyan families, but an intentional effort to reach outside of our school family to the community at large, bringing guests to our campus who may not know our school or our mission. As is the case with everything we do at Wesleyan, it is our desire that this event be an extension of our Christian mission.
Visual art, in all of its forms, allows for a range of expression that exceeds the limits of written or spoken words. It is through painting, drawing, sculpture, woodwork, and many other mediums, that we see a more complete view of the God-given and inspired talents of those around us. It is my hope that during this year’s Market you will be touched by the works of art you see and by those who created them, all in the glory of the ultimate Creator.
Whether you are a veteran of the Artist Market or a first-time attender; whether a member of the Wesleyan family or someone who has never visited our campus, I hope you feel the hospitality and embrace of the wonderful Wesleyan community, and by all means, enjoy your time at the Market this April!
